Well the weekend started out by my sis finally getting Bright home from Ghana. I love this picture and just had to show it off. The story of his homecoming is on her blog.
But on Sunday it was a different story. We got up and Phil, being the man he is, couldn't just do nothing so he busted his butt on yard work and such. And of course we made Phil's Father's day gift and gave it too him. He loves it so much and Mia had a BALL making it.
As you can see we hand painted her hands onto the t-shirt, let me tell you ...not such an easy thing to do... also learned that Mia LOVES finger painting...lol What kid doesn't right I plan on making something like this every year so we have her hand prints from now on at least once a year. That is why we wrote her name and the year on the shirt.
Then Phil got a Father's day kiss
Such a happy daughter and a loving daughter
This one is from Mother's day at Botanica but it is still a good pic of the two of them, and it is appropriate to show for the father's day post
My little lady, I love this dress, it was a hand me down from my sis and Mia looks so cute in it.
SO excited. I am so lucky to have her as my daughter
And as you can see Phil proudly wore his shirt yesterday.
And Mia gave us both a present yesterday as well. As we were getting ready to go run errands. Well I go into our bedroom and low and behold I see red all over our white sheets. I thought Mia had found the finger paint in the trash but we quickly discovered it wasn't paint. It was LIPSTICK!!!!! I look down and there are two lipstick lids on the floor. There is baby powder all over my vanity. We search the house for the missing lipstick. Lipstick on her bedroom door, on our bedroom door, on the wall in the hallway. But no lipstick tube...lol. So I look inside the vanity drawer and there it is!! Half a tube of "retro red" lipstick with a lot of it pinched off, you can see her little fingernail marks on it...lol. AND the rest of the baby powder. So Miss Mia has decided she is definitely a lady and wants to wear makeup. Oddly enough we never found any on her or her clothes. Well there was one small mark on her arm that I thought was a scratch that turned out to be lipstick....oooo the joys of parenthood...lol. SO that was our father's day weekend. Sorry it has been so long since a post. Just busy with everyday life and having Mia home 24/7 again since school is out.

Oh and news for the folks, Phil and I are on our last packs of cigarettes. After these packs we will not buy anymore, so we may be grumpy but we won't be smoking...lol. And for those that don't know, we don't smoke with Mia in the car or in the house. We smoke outside and if at all possible we try to keep Mia away from us when we do.
Have a great week guys.

chapstick would be fun makeup for mia that won't make as big of a mess as lipstick but will still make her feel like a big girl :D love you guys and glad you had a great weekend!
Those pics of her crossing her legs are priceless.
Oh! I'm so proud of you guys to decide to quit smoking!!! Please know that you are really doing the best thing for your daughter as well as yourselves. You don't need that addiction in your lives now that you have something else to be addicted to. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress. You can Do IT! Yeahhhhh! (Feel free to hate me right now.)
